Despite all the unfortunate events happening worldwide, I have been trying to look on the bright side of things and I am planning a few projects for our yard this spring.

The first project to do is prep the backyard for a concrete sidewalk to be poured between the house and detached garage.  Next I would like to build a modern water feature... I have a few ideas bouncing around in my head that involve using some old 55 gallon drums from work.  Last night I bought some seed starter trays at Zamzows and I planted a few different varieties of lettuce, spinach, cilantro, and basil.  I want to get some more trays and plant a few more herbs.  I want to build a few planter boxes and have a small garden this year as well!  So much to do, so little time.  Sad

What are your plans for this spring?

Planting peas in the garden with my amazing daughter today.  Sunny skies and warm soil - a perfect day for it.

The cold frame is finally done and ready.  Has its own automatic vent!  Will start greens in there today.

I am planning to build a new chicken coop using earthbag technology. The plans were featured in Mother Earth News this winter, and I have really wanted to try out earthbag building.

We will also be working on the garden as it is still not finished. Plus we need to put in another new pasture for the horses which will extend our pasture management capabilities.

Get the Saddle Barn paint job done, clean up the one million and one tumble weeds that blew in during the winter, and get the horses ready for summer. It looks to be a busy, but fun, spring.  Cheesy

Hey Dree, keep us posted on your earthbag project.  Maybe we can schedule a field trip out to see it in mid-construction.  I'm very interested in earthbag construction and would love to see it first-hand.

Very cool!  Keep us informed on your project and let us know if you need any help.
